Get Involved
At Renown we have so many different ways our commmunity and family members can get involved. See below the different ways you may like to connect with the kinder .

01
Fundraising Support
As a not-for-profit, Renown holds multiple fundraising opportunities throughout the year. We organise raffles, gold coin donations and of course our annual extravaganza – our Spring Fair. The Spring Fair includes an amazing Silent Auction, disco, face painting, fun & games for all and we wouldn’t be complete without a traditional sausage sizzle and bar! It really is the highlight of our social calendar.
Families volunteer their time and creativity to make these amazing events happen. All fundraising income goes straight back into the kinder through maintenance, upgrades and the purchase of new resources.
02
Join the Committee of Management
Renown, being a community kinder, is operated by a voluntary Committee of Management. The Committee is responsible for the management of the kindergarten, working in close consultation with the Senior Leadership Team. Specific responsibilities entail managing finances, employee support, liaising with the community, strategic direction of the kindergarten, consulting with government departments and Stonington council, upholding Renown’s quality and ensuring the kindergarten operates and maintains its compliance with legislation and policies.

The CoM meet monthly.

03
Become a Class Rep
The Class Representatives help to build family connections within each kinder group by encouraging participation in kindergarten events and activities and arranging social events for families. Being around at drop-off and/or pick-up would be helpful (but not essential) so that you can get to know the other families and motivate them to get involved. These are pivotal roles that can really make a difference!
The Class Reps work closely with the Fundraising officer on the busy work of kindergarten events - brainstorming ideas, distributing advertising materials, organising equipment, set up, pack up and assisting at events.
04
In The Classroom
There are endless opportunities for families to be a part of our kindergarten program and actively engage with your child's learning journey. We welcome you to join us in taking part or leading an activity of your child’s choice, such as cooking, reading, singing, dancing, talking about your job, helping out with excursions, sharing an artefact or helping us to prepare a fruit salad morning tea. Speak with your class teacher about getting involved.
