OUR PROGRAMS

The Early Years Learning Framework guides Renown's curriculum enabling each child’s learning in the five outcomes:

• Children have a strong sense of identity

• Children are connected with and contribute to their world

• Children have a strong sense of wellbeing

• Children are confident and involved learners

• Children are effective communicators.

The Curriculum decision making at Renown is informed by the context, setting and cultural diversity of our families and our community. The program at Renown Kindergarten for each child takes into account their strengths, capabilities, culture, interests and experiences. Each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture and interests provide the foundation for the program. Every child is supported to participate in the program. Each child’s learning and development is assessed as part of an ongoing cycle of planning, documenting and evaluating children’s learning. Critical reflection and evaluation of children’s learning and development, both as individuals and in groups, is used as a primary source of information for planning and to improve the effectiveness of the program and teaching strategies.

Relevant information about the program and your child’s participation in the program is shared with you on a regular basis in our daily reflection books, your child’s portfolio, photographs and documentation of your child’s work and learning.

 EXTENDED CARE

Renown is now offering extended care for greater flexibility with work, family or volunteer commitments, while retaining the benefits of a sessional kindergarten program.
Families can choose to enrol in extended care on their child's full kinder days.

The program is run by current staff members to support familiarity and consistency of routines and transitions.

Enrolments: About Us
Enrolments: Information Pack

Renown Kindergarten offers Funded Kindergarten. Renown is not currently part of the free kindergarten initiative.

The Department of Education (DE) provides funding for each child enrolled and attending kindergarten in the two years before school as a contribution toward the costs of providing the program. Services meet the balance of costs through charging fees and fundraising activities.

DE provides a Kindergarten Fee Subsidy that enables children from eligible families to attend a kindergarten program free of charge or at low cost in the two years before school.

DE also provides Early Start Kindergarten funding to assist eligible three-year-old Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, from a refugee or asylum seeker background or the family have had contact with child protection, to access kindergarten programs.

Renown Kindergarten reserves the right to charge full fees, including the equivalent of the government subsidy that is not received by the family, which might be receiving their funding elsewhere, or who are attending two programs.

Renown provides a range of support options to parents/guardians experiencing difficulty with payment of fees. Please contact us directly to discuss options.

Additional Fee Charges

Application for Enrolment Fee (admin fee):  An enrolment fee of $50 is paid to cover the costs of processing a child’s enrolment application for a place in a program at Renown Kindergarten. This admin fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee your child a place at Renown Kindergarten but places your child on the relevant waiting list.

Enrolment Deposit: A non-refundable enrolment deposit of $150 is required to secure a child’s place at the service and is payable on acceptance of enrolment.

Payment of Fees is arranged via a Direct Debit Fee Payment Agreement, or an individual invoice if requested by the family.

TERM DATES

Term Dates 2026

Term 1: 27th Jan -  2nd April

Term 2: 20th April - 26th June

Term 3: 13th July - 18th Sept

Term 4:  5th Oct - 18th Dec

Term 1

The first few weeks of the kindergarten programs are reserved for program planning and induction/settling sessions. Please note these are temporarily shorter sessions, which facilitate the transition period. This allows the children to settle into their kinder program to ensure they have a happy and less anxious start to their new environment, new Teacher and Educators, a longer day and getting to know new children.

This is a process that we have found to be beneficial and help with the smooth transition for your child.

For your specific class times please refer to the introduction letter you will receive in your information pack.
